Datto and Autotask Have Teamed Up

By Greg Watkins

The recent merger of Datto and Autotask under the same ownership generates a powerful synergy that benefits customers.

I say that as someone with hands-on experience on both technologies. Autotask is a feature-rich, device-management software enabling IT staff to automatically patch, configure, and monitor hundreds of workstations and servers. It is the heartbeat of a Managed Services Organization, overseeing tickets and offering complex dashboards for maintaining quality in professional services automation.

Becoming integrated with Datto business continuity solutions is a major step forward. Datto has put together a set of backup solutions utilizing mature, open-source software (Linux, Apache, ZFS) along with custom hardware and algorithms for efficiently storing data (Inverse Chain Technology). They offer perhaps the greatest value for those customers requiring less than 50 terabytes of protected data.

When put together, automatic Datto alerts are processed along with other alerts as part of normal business operations. Datto machines can be managed like any other device, but Autotask will be “Datto-aware”, providing intelligent realtime information for remote technicians and engineers.

These two winners are now under the same roof, offering an unbeatable, solution.
